Fibre rush is a very durable one ply, twisted paper made to resemble real twisted bull rushes. There is no collecting, drying, soaking, flattening and twisting that is required as in natural rush; thus saving hours of work. Sizing up your Chair To determine the size of rush used in your chair, measure the number of strands per inch in your existing chair. All sizes will vary a little. Appox. Appox. All colors are guaranteed to vary from order to order. All rush texture will vary from order to order, so it is important to order enough rush to complete your entire project. A typical seat measuring 14" x 14" takes about 2 lbs. What Color is Best Kraft brown and light kraft are best for most chair seats. The light kraft allows you to stain with a greater range of colors. Golden brown is actually light green in color rand turns golden brown when orange shellac is applied to it. The other colors are used for special effects and for other craft and decorative projects.

A 2 pound coil is enough to do one average chair seat with approximate dimensions of 14" x 16". A 35-40 pound Spool will do about 11-17 chair seats. Color is consistent throughout the spool. Natural sea grass rush, hand twisted. A great substitute for doing a traditional rush seating. It is in its natural green color but will turn brown with age. Since this is twisted by hand there may be a difference in the diameter along the cordage. Put up in coils weighing approx. 2 1/4 lbs. each. One coil will do a seat about 12" x 14."

Wire Rush is similar to regular fibre rush, except it has a strong wire running through its center. It is used for repairing the stakes of Lloyd Loom wicker furniture and some new wicker pieces.

| Twisted seagrass is a twine-like material which has been hand twisted to resemble rope. Its thickness may vary within the coil. It is made of a natural straw-like product which is variegated green and tan in color. This green color will turn brown with age. It can be dyed. It is used for seat weaving, some wicker furniture and basketry. A 3 lb. coil of sizes 1- 3 will do an average 14" x 16" chair seat. Shaker tape is a cloth tape used for seating on Shaker furniture. It comes in 5/8" or 1" widths. If the chair seat is 15" x 14" It will take about 38 yards of 5/8" wide tape to do the seat. It will take about 25 yards of 1" wide take to do the same size seat.
