Rattan Poles
| Rattan Poles w/ skin Sold in 9ft lengths |
|||
Generally, rattan poles have been used for making light weight, flexible furniture that is known for its durability and beauty. Because of its durability and resistance to splintering, cut pieces of rattan are widely used as staves for martial arts and are the only material accepted for the making of weapons in the Society for Creative Acronism (SCA). |
|||
Rattan poles, unlike bamboo poles, are solid, more smooth and regular in size. They enjoy less taper, although they still do taper some. Rattan poles are cut from a variety of vine-like palms according to their intended use, some more flexible for weaving and others more rigid for structural purposes. As importers, we are very aware of these differences. Please let us know your intended purpose so we can suggest the best variety. |

Shipping notes - When we ship the poles by parcel carriers like UPS or FedEx Ground we trim the poles to 8'11" so they are shippable, even though they still ship as an oversize package. Also, let us know if we will be shipping to a residential or commercial address. If we have your complete shipping address and number of poles and cutting instructions, we can figure out the exact total for you. Note: Cutting the poles down to 42" can save greatly on shipping charges. |
